My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with special-needs kids for eight years. This has consisted of working with extremely aggressive children, as well as not as aggressive children, or even mildly aggressive children. I have worked with children who have special needs, and who are verbal and high functioning, as well as the opposite end of the spectrum where children may not be as verbal. In my eyes, everybody has a way of communicating. It’s up to the ones that are working with the children to understand, respect and listen to the ways that they are communicating, even if it is not “normal”.
