A little bit about me

I am a retired teacher with 21 years of experience teaching students from kindergarten through sixth grade, as well as mentoring high school and college students. My specialty is Language Arts—reading and writing. I hold a BA in Literacy, Language, and Learning from Occidental College.

I have worked with students of all abilities, including children with autism, non-verbal learners, and gifted students. My lessons are individualized, beginning with an interest inventory and skills assessment, and I use strategies such as kinetic learning, scaffolding, tactile activities, and audio-visual aids to keep learning engaging and effective.

The most important thing of being a nanny is working closely with parents to make sure there is consistency in their care and making sure the child’s or children’s needs are met as they continue to feel nurtured and supported.

I have worked with a multitude of children with special needs such as autism, non-verbal, students with speech disorders, and gifted and or high achieving students.
