A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Hailey! I grew up in a big family with many siblings and pets. It's a joy to be around children for me. I also worked as a Caregiver in a nursing home with residents that were high-risk, had dementia or Alzheimer's. I know how to manage multiple people at once, and how to relieve a stressful situation. I took on a few babysitting jobs as a teenager and I loved helping the kids with their homework or play. I am adequate in the kitchen and I could help do meal prep, or for fun, I could teach the children some skills to use.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

For my Senior year in high school I attended a vocational center and studied in the ECE program. In that program we ran a preschool from Tuesday to Friday and we each were sectioned to have our own task with each group of children. Some of us were supervisors, others were teachers. We ran crafts, and imaginative play. We also had the job as a receptionist and snack cook. I have done tutoring for elementary school kids and I have done babysitting jobs while I was in high school. I also have a little sister that my family adopted and I have helped take care of since she was 6 months old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy letting the children get creative, and sometimes in that you have to get a little messy. I love helping them with crafts and cooking or baking with them in the kitchen. I love reading to children and getting them into books. To me, letting kids control their imaginative play is best. I'm here to supervise and make sure they stay safe. Playing outside is also a great pastime when the weather is nice.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Keeping kids safe and happy, teaching them new skills, letting them have fun and giving them someone new to trust.

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have any current experience with special needs children, but I have worked with the elderly that are special needs. I worked there for over a year and managed patients that had Alzheimer's, dementia, and were physically aggressive at times.

The most important part about being a nanny...

In my hometown I took my child I was nannying for to a little apple festival that was being held. She was so excited to get her face painted and get a caramel apple. I treated her to exactly that. She got painted like a tiger. We went on rides and played the carnival games there. There was also this really big hill that she rolled down multiple times. It was her day to just completely enjoy being a kid. Seeing her joy made the day amazing, even if she got a little muddy.
