More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During my senior year of college I was a student teacher for 3rd grade classroom. I truly loved doing that, up until then I never thought I would want to teach third grade but being placed in that classroom it completely changed my mind! It was a small class but the kids were amazing and the teacher really helped me learn. The last month and a half I pretty much took over the class and would teach alone all morning up until lunch time.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
On a rainy or cold day I love to do arts and crafts with the kids like drawing or painting, and I love baking as well! I also bring the kids to the local library a lot to go to the children’s section where we can read books and play with other children, or go to a story time from a librarian. I also love to get outside with the kids if it’s going outside on a walk in the stroller, going to the park, and going to the pool!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing to me is that the children are happy. I want the kids to be happy to spend the day with me and excited about the activities I planned. I always want them to have fun and be themselves!
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have a lot of experience with special needs children, at one of my previous jobs there were children who were on the spectrum so we gave them more one on one time with one of the teachers. I was one on one with one of the students a lot and I would do a lot of activities with colors and counting and their favorite activities with them. I would be calm and patient with the student, and just try to help in anyway I could. I was learning a lot during that experience because I had never worked with a child with special needs but I loved having a close bond with that child since we were one on one a lot of the time!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I traveled with the family I am currently nannying for to Charolette, NC and I spent the whole day with the girls exploring the city. We walked to a huge children’s library and played there for a very long time, and attended a story time the library was having. After we walked around and got lunch and then played in the hotel for hours. When I think about my favorite day nannying the girls I always think of that day because of how much fun we all had. I was a little nervous about traveling with the family because I had not done it yet but it ended up being a blast for me. We all just laughed and played and that is the trip that I began to feel like I was apart of their family.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Boston, MA: Katie W.
I have worked with kids as a camp counselor, I am incredibly patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic. I grew up in a house with sisters and love to stay moving, be creative, and keep a fun, safe environment. I do have first aid knowledge and I myself have a lot of dietary restrictions as well as food allergies so I am very well versed on how to keep food safe if there are allergies or restrictions. I really enjoyed working with kids throughout high school and my college years. I am a very neat person and keep things organized. Previously, I have cleaned the home and done laundry, as well as prepped lunches, dinners, or done some light errands as well as driving kids to and from school, play dates, or taking them out to breakfast, lunch, the park, etc. I am very flexible and looking to work 30 hours a week or more!! I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully working with you and wish you all the best in your search for a nanny!
Best regards,
Katie Waters
