Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have cared for children, ages ranging from toddlers to adults! I have worked as an assistant teacher in a preschool setting, an afterschool tutor/summer camp teacher in a daycare, as a PCA in a local middle school for a child with autism, and as a Registered Behavior Technician for children with ASD and other developmental disorders. I have experience in classrooms, homes, and community settings.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going for walks, taking them to the park, and arts & craft activities. I also enjoy lazy days, with movies & popcorn! I worked a role where I created crafts, fun activities, and community opportunities that allowed me the experience to bring different ideas to the day!
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most to me is that the children in my care feel protected, safe, comfortable and loved! I hope that they can grow & learn successfully, and have fun while doing it!
My experience with special needs children...
My special needs experience includes being a 1:1 for a child with autism. Throughout that position, I also helped students with other intellectual disabilities, and speech/language/hearing impairments. I also worked as an RBT, with a caseload of 1-5 clients, in a variety of settings (homes, clinic, schools), and with a variety of disorders and ASD.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my most fondest memories with a child is my first ever piece of art when I started working at my first job in the field! I still have it to this day, and hope that child is growing & learning wonderfully! Maybe she is even going to be an artist one day and my little self portrait will be up in a gallery!
