More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Growing up with a brother who has Hemophilia gave me a unique introduction to caregiving from an early age. Through my family's involvement in the Hemophilia community, I had the opportunity to build relationships with many wonderful families and provide childcare for children living with the condition.
I also volunteered at Hemophilia conferences, caring for children while their parents attended educational sessions and events. This led me to meet many wonderful families that I continued to care for outside of the conferences & am still close with to this day. (Going to one of their weddings next year!)
I started tutoring piano in high school and went on to give private lessons to children ages 4-11 years old. This has been one of the most rewarding & incredibly cool experiences I've felt lucky enough to be a part of.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I'm a big believer in supporting each kid's individual creativity as well as participating in the activities they are both drawn to and a little nervous of. Arts & crafts will always be one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon together as well as anything that involves music, dancing, and a lot of silliness. I love bringing over my mini keyboard and making music together as well.
I love getting kids involved in the kitchen if age-appropriate, whether it's baking, helping with dinner, or trying a fun recipe together.
I'm a huge fan of playing outside, making fairy houses, swimming, creating scavenger hunts, and (of course) the beach.
Some of my favorite moments are the cozy ones. Pajama days, movies, building blanket forts, and enjoying downtime together.
Above all I love exploring each kid's interests and developing hobbies, while introducing them to new things, games, fun activities that I've been lucky enough to do with my little ones over the years.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Creating a space where children feel safe, loved, understood, and free to be exactly who they are. Being welcomed into their little world is a beautifully humbling & grounding experience. I love how much they remind me to slow down a bit, be present, and find awe in simple moments.
Building trust, nurturing curiosity, encouraging independence, and being a steady comforting presence through good and bad days alike. I want the children I care for to feel celebrated & important. Each little personality is magic.
I've learned through all my families that it's not just about caring for children but about supporting the family as a whole. Some of my favorite relationships have been built by becoming a familiar part of a family's everyday life. I understand how important it is to respect each family's routines, values, parenting style, while offering consistency, and an extra set of hands. Above all, giving parents a little peace of mind that their babies are safe, supported, and loved.

My experience with special needs children...
My connection to caring for children with medical needs started at home. My little brother has severe Hemophilia, and I learned how give him infusions at a very age.
One of my most meaningful experiences was volunteering as a counselor at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, an organization that gives children facing serious & life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to experience all the magic, and adventure of summer camp. Although these children all had serious medical conditions, many of them had developmental delays as well as behavioral issues that taught me how to look at the child as a whole.
I also have hands-on experience caring for a young girl with diabetes, including monitoring her blood glucose levels and administering insulin injections as needed.
These experiences have given me a deep appreciation providing attentive, individualized care and encouraging independence, confidence.
Although not a special need, I also have experience with multiples (twins & triplets!)

The most important part about being a nanny...
It's really tough to choose one singular memory. I think my favorite moments have been when I can tell they're no longer nervous about having a new person be in their home, and instead I see their little excited faces waiting in the window for me to pull in. Spending early mornings together, hearing about something new they did or learned, and especially when they feel comfortable enough to be their full-blown silly selves with me.
