Hi,
My name is Halle Edwards and I recently moved to Cranberry, PA from Ohio. I have 5 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist and several additional years of babysitting prior to receiving my degree. I am currently working as an early intervention SLP part-time and have extra time on my hands to nanny. I have experience with children with disabilities and behaviors of all ages between birth-18 years. I am CPR certified and have had several background checks throughout the last 5 years which have all passed. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Playing games, reading, physical movement activities, coloring, crafts, etc. I have a full trunk of fun games that I adapt to several different children depending on what they enjoy. I love getting to know kids and follow their lead in interests and activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Setting clear boundaries and expectations with families and the children. Keeping the kids safe is the biggest priority, and having clear communication with what is expected will help everyone.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience is primarily with children with disabilities. I have experience working with children diagnosed with speech/language delays, autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, brain injuries, and several other diagnoses. Several of my clients have struggled with behaviors and attending to activities, which I have several strategies to help them with.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Getting huge smiles from my kids whatever the activity may be. I always follow the kids lead with their interests (in a safe way). It may be finding pinecones, building a fort, making slime, or baking!
