More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Not only do I teach and nanny, I have been involved in several charities globally.
Whether it was serving the homeless or orphaned in my home city, to traveling to places like India to aid in providing necessities to families. I was also a part of an elite women's charity club from my home city where we sponsored single mothers and their children.
Family has always been a large part of my life, and nothing makes me happier than being able to make another child inspired to smile and learn about the wonders of the world.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Any and all activities are always personally catered to the individual child. For example:
I had a two year old expat student who loved cars. We played with toy cars often, using them to learn colors, shapes, and numbers. We would use books about cars to learn letters and how to read. At two years old I managed to help him be capable of speaking English as a second language and reading Basic Level books.
I had a five year old student who was very active. We would begin our sessions outdoors, exploring nature and playing games to spark imagination. Then, once he had calmed down and was able to focus, we would return back inside and read books and begin our lessons. This balance of energy helped any pent up energy and garnered excitement to learn.
I had a five year old little girl who loved princesses. We would role play with her dolls or dress up, exercising her imagination. Then, we would paint our own fairy princesses and write our own stories.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny is being a superhero.
You are a caretaker, a role model, and a playmate in one. To me, the most important part is going into the family's space with positivity and patience. Children easily read energies, and in showing them that you add welcomeness and safety to a space helps them crawl out of their shells.

For Valentine's day, my elementary class group that I had taught for one year surprised me with handmade Valentine's cards. They were so excited to show me what they had made, and the letters were so, so sweet. They reminded me why I love doing my job. I cherish them to this day.
