Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked in the church daycare/nursery and children's church classes, babysitting friends and family, as well as, through hire, in their homes and even my own at times. I have worked in facilities/group settings with special needs of all ages, county Special Olympics volunteer, and special needs bus aide. I have even volunteered and worked with eldery patients with Dementia and Alzheimer's in their homes.

My experience with special needs children...
Both Verbal and non-verbal, as well as, high functioning and low functioning individuals with Autism from all ranges of the spectrum. Although individuals with autism is where I've had most of my experience, I have worked with many other disabilities in my years in this field.
Duties included, but are not limited to:
ADLs (aiding one's self care-hygiene/bathing/oral and skin care, etc), communication techniques, running goals and working on social skills and academics, prompting and encouraging chores as independently as possible, meal prep and passing out medication, running errands, going on outings, redirecting negative behavior with positive reinforcement, monitor for seizures and safety at all times, and, in some cases, trained to do hands-on redirection to stop negative physical harm whether it be Self Injurious Behaviors (SIB) or physical aggression toward staff or family members.
