A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Hannah, I’m 23 years old and currently living in NJ- but am open to new locations! I have done babysitting/nannying for the last 3 years (part time, live-out) and am ready to become a full time (possibly live-in) nanny for the perfect family.

My thinking as a nanny:
I believe it’s important to create a safe space for kids- both physically and emotionally, and see this as a part of the nanny’s role. I also think that part of my role as a nanny is to help kids to learn how to believe in themselves, and their peers, through cultivating mindsets of open minded thinking, that support creativity and allow that everyone feels safe to share their voice.
A bit about me:
I love nature, art and traveling, and would love to find a family that shares this appreciation. I love all animals, and grew up with 4 younger siblings and 2 older siblings. I believe our power lies in our peace, and aim to cultivate/maintain inner peace, both as a nanny, and a person. :)

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Love any type of outdoor play, I find it helps us to be in the present moment and put screens down.
I also love creating art with kids- whether to be chalk, finger paint, watercolor paints, clay, or anything else (within reason) the kids seem interested in.
Anything that safely lets kids use their imagination and creativity is a fun game for me to look over/ play along with- these are the moments that may be lasting memories, both for me as a nanny, and for the kids I work with :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Of course, the children’s safety is the first priority. However, once basic needs are met- I find that building up children's self esteem from within, allowing them to see themselves as capable and confident people, is important to me. Cultivating mindsets of gratitude and self love allow for people (kids or not) to move through life more presently, which allows for life itself to feel like a present.
Furthermore, I think it’s important we create opportunities for kids to be in the present moment- whether through setting up outdoor games, an art project, or making up a new game that ties in the kids’ interests.

My experience with special needs children...

I went to school for 2 years for my bachelors degree in elementary education and special education. (I dropped out when I realized I didn’t agree with/want to take part in certain aspects of the public education system- but the information I gained did not drop from my knowledge.)
I am open to learning how to better work with whatever special needs any child may have, after I first learn what I need to do in order to be of more help to them.
