The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is making sure the child(ren) in your care feel safe and comfortable, while also having fun and enjoying the time we have to play!
My experience with special needs children...
My older brother was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome at a young age. Growing up with him, I learned a lot about what to do in certain situations. My mom educated us all on how to help my brother when he would have a meltdown. Use a soft voice, reassure him that it's okay, and help him find alternative ways to let his emotions out. When I worked at Faith Baptist Child Development Center, we had a young boy who was diagnosed with Autism. It is very important to not react to a meltdown and to think first. This young boy had an issue with biting other children; we worked with his parents and other teachers at the school to teach him to stomp his feet instead. That way, he could still let out his emotions but he was not hurting himself or others.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have been babysitting for the same family since 2014. When Leon County went into shutdown, I began nannying for them so the parents could work from home without interruptions. Since there was no school in session and trying to be safe with the pandemic, I had to think of activities that were fun and socially distant while trying to keep her active. My favorite activity was when I created a scavenger hunt in the Old City Cemetery. I verbally gave her the first clue and she had to find the remaining 12 clues to receive the prize. For each notecard, there was a clue on the history of that grave but in order to find it she had to solve a math equation to match the dates on the grave. Once she got to the last clue, it was time to find her treasure; a basket full of toys.

Babysitter Available in Tallahassee, FL: Jahasia B.
I am a caring, dependable, and patient individual with hands-on experience caring for infants and young children. I currently care for my 4-month-old daughter and also help care for my nephew, who is close in age, which has given me daily experience with feeding, diapering, soothing, and maintaining routines for babies.
I would need to bring my daughter with me while working; however, this would not affect the level of attention, care, or responsibility I provide. I am fully capable of managing her needs while still prioritizing the children I am caring for and maintaining a safe, structured environment.
I am very attentive to children’s needs and focused on creating a calm, nurturing space. I am willing to follow parent instructions closely, learn new routines, and adapt to each child’s personality and needs.
Although I have not worked in a formal childcare setting yet, I am responsible, reliable, and eager to gain more professional experience as a nanny.
