A little bit about me

For as long as I can remember, kids have always loved me, and I've loved them right back! That being said, my patience & understanding goes a long way in different babysitting and nanny environments whether it's with newborns, toddlers, or pre-teens! I've met amazing kids, who I can't wait to see turn into awesome adults. Through the years, I've gained wonderful experience with toddlers who have intellectual disabilities, pre-teens that need one-on-one tutoring, & so much more!

I am a full-time student pursuing a path in healthcare. I am a declared psychology major with a minor in gerontology set to graduate in 2025. Then, I plan to pursue Master's programs in the realms of healthcare or social work.

I have worked as a regular nanny & as-needed childcare worker for 5+ years with ages ranging from 4 months to 10+ year olds.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've had the joy of working with kids in different settings aside from established childcare. One of my previous positions involved working in an after-school program managing a gaggle of kindergartners. The tasks included things such as activity design & emotional support. Another position, while not specifically childcare, was a wrangler position that involved me taking guests on horseback rides. Many of those rides involved taking children on rides, which were always the rides I would volunteer for because those were always the most fun!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Depending on the age I am caring for, I absolutely love spending time outside going on walks, hikes, etc. I've always been an advocate for getting outside, & I think this can be especially beneficial for kiddos.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny/childcare provider comes with a lot of responsibility & decision making. Those in this position can make a huge difference in a household, & I believe one of the most important parts of being a nanny is giving grace to a household, & to be able to be a lending hand. If me doing a few tasks around the house or for a kiddo can make a world of difference for the family, such as hitting that pile of clean laundry that's been on the couch for a week & is causing major anxiety or doing a quick vacuum of the house so the adults in the house can stop noticing it & thinking about it, I am happy to do that. My goal is to be a helper, & if that's what I can do to help, then I am happy to do so.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I've shared so many great moments with the kids I've gotten to know over the years, & I absolutely love the way that their brains work. One of my favorite moments was when I was running errands with a kiddo who was around 5 years old at the time. His mother has celiac disease like I do (We have to lead a gluten free diet), so he was always hearing about gluten both at home & sometimes when we'd have snacks together. He was sitting in the back of the car staring out of the window while resting his chin on his hand & as he pondered out the window he said, "Hayley... why can't girls eat gluten?" I absolutely love how kids connect their dots!
