A little bit about me

I’m a full time college student at App State, studying Biology. While I don’t have paid experience, I have been babysitting my niece, nephews, and cousins, for years. I am also a short term missionary who deals largely with teens and younger children. If given an opportunity, I will work hard and with integrity to keep your family and home a safe place. I do have a college schedule to consider, but am flexible with my hours outside of school. My biggest goal as a nanny/ babysitter is to uphold the guidelines that your family has in place and to go above and beyond for whatever you need.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I direct and run a Teen Camp out of Alaska and I lead a team into a remote village for VBS, during the summer. I have been a flight attendant, I have worked in a bakery, and I have worked odd jobs at school. I do have a background of CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications, but most of those lapsed during the pandemic. As mentioned in my bio, I have extensive experience with my own family and taking care of all the younger kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy playing games, watching movies, doing fun little crafts or cooking-related activities in general. However, I ultimately want to know what the children enjoy and how I can best be there for them!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about taking care of kids is understanding their backgrounds and providing a safe space for them. The goal is not to be the parent, but to adhere and enforce the parents rules and wishes, while providing genuine care to the children. I believe that taking time to listen to kids and see their perspective on life holds so much value; while I am there to watch after the kids for a short time, I also hope to learn from them.
