Hello! My name is Heather and I am a dedicated former special-education paraprofessional and mother to a one year old(almost)! With over 4 years in elementary education and a lifetime of hands-on experience, I focus on fostering growth through purposeful, play-based learning. My experience with special needs children...

I worked at Kiln Creek Elementary for 4+ years in the SID (severe intellectual delay) and MOID (Moderate Intellectual Delay) rooms. Most of my comfortability comes with children with physical limitations (cerebral palsy, wheelchairs, AFO’s, etc). I have experience with behavioral delays and Autism, however at this time I am not actively seeking a job involving special education. However, I am always willing to meet on a case-by-case basis. I also have experience with one childhood burn survivor who I spent the summer taking care of. She was 5 years old and 9 months post accident.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don’t have a favorite nanny moment but I have a favorite mom moment (for this week at least lol) and that is my 11 month old daughters new o session with the word “outside”. I taught her to say it on a whim because it was a beautiful day outside and now I hear it ALL day long! As a result we go outside 2-3 times a day when the weather is nice.
