A little bit about me

My 3 year old daughter and I have been carrying for 3 boys ages 6-16 for the past 3 years. Now that they are starting full-time at school we are no longer needed for childcare. I have also taught preschool for 4 years previously. I would love to be able to continue to keep my daughter with me while I care for any other children that may come under my care. While I do not have updated certifications for CPR and first aid at this moment, I have been taking the courses for almost 10 years. I also worked as a life guard for 3 years prior to becoming a preschool teacher. While in college I study education and early childcare development.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Rhi-rhi had a mom and jail and a drug addicted father. Her grandparents whom one was not mobile and the other had copd cared for her. I worked as a preschool teacher with her during the day and privately in the evenings I would come over and help her stay active. She was 3 and had so much energy. Because of her situation she would have trouble regulating her emotions and sometimes I would just have to hold her until she could calm. At 3 she was basically nonverbal, after about 6 months the growth she showed conversing was amazing. She was shy and would hid her progress from her grandmother. With permission I recorded her doing all of her colors, shapes, and numbers out loud. It was the first time her grandmother had ever heard her doing this and she just broke down in tears. She hugged me and I know it gave her hope for that sweet girl.
