A little bit about me

I am 26 years old with a decade of experience. I have worked in two different daycares, and worked as a Nanny in many homes with different dynamics. I have worked with children as young as 2 months and as old as 11 years. The majority of my experience is in the infant to preschool age range. At one of the daycares I worked at, I complete several safety training courses. Childcare is my passion, I find that they teach you more than you can ever teach them. I enjoy both cleaning and cooking, I am able to prepare meals as well as completing housekeeping chores while I work. I have experience with potty training as well as sleep training. Because I have worked in many circumstances in childcare, I have developed patience and the ability to create a safe and stable environment in which children can grow and learn. I do not mind helping with schoolwork or assisting in learning. I am hoping to find a family to work for consistently over a long period of time.

I am a very creative person, I love art and music. I love to come up with fun crafts to do with children. I adore being outside in nature, I love to take mindful walks and appreciate the beauty of the outdoors. I love to take walks with little ones and see the wonder in their eyes as they observe the beautiful world around us. I enjoy dancing, it’s always heartwarming to put on music and let kids dance around and be silly. I love to laugh and make kiddos laugh, I am all about creating a happy environment and putting a smile on the faces of children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a Nanny is listening, and learning. You teach children, but they will always teach you more. Seeing the world from the perspective of childlike wonder is priceless. This job is incredibly rewarding!

My experience with special needs children...

While in High School I was a regular babysitter for a little boy with autism. I developed a strong bond with him and was able to help him find what was soothing and what made him happy. He loved to be in nature and observe the plant life outside. We would take slow walks and stop to admire different plants and I would help him to identify them, as he loved learning as well. I do not mind assisting with special needs children at all.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite thing ever is when children draw something for me, or open up to me creatively. I’ve had the privilege of creating a bond with a child that will share things they create. It warms my heart when I receive a picture a kid has drawn. I enjoy music and singing, I watched a 9 year old girl that loved singing and would share her songs with me me. She one day timidly handed me a letter with a drawing of myself and my dog, it said something along the lines of “You’re my favorite babysitter, thank you for listening to me sing”. I will never forget that!
