A little bit about me

Hi! I am Hilary, I am a 21-year-old college student born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I'm a fun, energetic person who loves to interact with people, and pets alike. Caretaking has always been a natural gift for me. Growing up and still now, funny enough, my friends and family call me "the mother of the group" due to my nurturing spirit and love for others. As your potential nanny, I promise to work with you hand and hand to build a strong relationship not just between us but most importantly the kid(s). Growing up with an older brother, two little sisters and herd of cousins, I understand how to adapt to different personalities and love everyone for who they are, where they are. As your nanny, I plan to do the same with your child/children cultivating a relationship with them as well as you. I look forward to speaking with you soon and growing together!

All the best,
Hilary <3

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently enrolled at Howard University, taking courses online, pursing my degree in Elementary Education. My hands on experience comes from a lifetime of changing diapers, babysitting with my aunts and grandmother and having fun with my little cousins.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

painting, drawing, imagining, reading, etc. just about anything that will make them laugh

The most important part about being a nanny...

is learning to adapt and allow children to adjust to who you are. As a nanny you are a stranger, which can sometimes cause you to be seen as a little bit of a nuisance to the child because you have to correct and redirect their behavior. Being a nanny, I understand that it is imperative to be patient with the child and allow them to formulate their own emotions about me rather than to force myself into their space. By doing so, I am seen as an asset or a friend to the child rather than a person in their space, there to annoy and boss them around. This builds a mutual respect between nanny and child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

was with my little cousin, who I nicknamed "Chicken Nugget"; One night after watching a movie and eating popsicles, she kept asking me about how to make them. After answering her question, the first time, she continued to ask me how to make the popsicles, only each time she would add a new outrageous ingredient. Each time she would add a new crazy ingredient, I would respond "What?!?" in my most shocked, squeaky voice making her burst in a ball of giggles and breathless laughter. This is my favorite memory as a nanny because Chicken Nugget is not a little girl known to laugh or smile often. Making her laugh was undoubtly my favorite moment additionally because it taught me that with patience you can make just about any kid come out of their shell.

P.S.
Her nickname stems from her unwavering love of McDonald's chicken nuggets and french fries.
