A little bit about me

Hi parents 🙂. I’m Hillary, I’ve been working with children ever since my first job at a summer camp, and I quickly realized it was something I truly enjoyed. Since then, every job I’ve had has involved caring for children. I love that every day is different and there’s always something fun to do, and I never get bored! I enjoy baking, reading stories, doing crafts, and finding fun ways to keep children engaged.

What draws me to nannying is the opportunity to build a closer relationship with both children and their families. I enjoy giving children one on one attention, getting to know their personalities, and planning activities that fit their interests. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching a child grow in confidence, learn something new, or accomplish a milestone. My goal is to create a safe, fun, and caring environment where children feel happy and parents feel confident knowing they’re in good hands.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My first job working with children was as a nanny, and that’s when I realized how much I loved working with kids. Since then, I’ve worked as a camp counselor, a daycare teacher aide, and I currently work as a substitute paraprofessional in a District 75 school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love planning activities that are both fun and educational! Some of my favorites include baking, arts and crafts, reading books, building with blocks, pretend play, puzzles, board games, outdoor walks, trips to the playground, and age appropriate science or sensory activities. I also like encouraging creativity, and making everyday moments exciting.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love being able to be a part of a child’s growth and development. Seeing them learn something new, become more confident, and watch their personality shine is what makes being a nanny so rewarding to me.

My experience with special needs children...

As a substitute paraprofessional in a District 75 school, I work with children with autism and a variety of other disabilities. This experience has taught me that every child learns and communicates differently. I love taking the time to understand each child and finding ways to help them succeed while making sure they feel comfortable and cared for.
