A little bit about me

I am now a new mom to a beautiful baby girl Serenity. I understand the preciousness of your child more than ever. I am so grateful.
I'm the eldest of 7, coming from a big family gives me lots of patience, and provided me with a lot of free child care experience. I have spent the last 3+ years of being a professional caregiver for all ages and was most recently a preschool teacher, before that I took care of the elderly and people with special needs. I am youthful and able to keep up with the little ones this has helped a lot. I have always taken care of others as cheesy as that sounds I truly love helping. I also do light housekeeping and I can cooking I am firm believer that food is medicine so count on healthy meals for all. Me and my little girl Serenity would love to help your family! She will be with me as my sidekick in training. So count on socialization and a play mate as a bonus for your angel and mine! I have my food handlers card as well as CPR and first aid Certified!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As well as being a momma and loving every minute thus far. I have spent a previous 3+ years working as a med tech/ caregiver for the elderly and people with developmental disabilities of all kinds ages 0-100. In the previous 4 years I spent time as a preschool teacher for ages 0-12 and was Most resonantly a private Nanny to some old students of mine and new families as well. I made the switch so I could focus my care and time to benefit the children I care for, plus children get to stay home in consistent structure and familiar comforts which I want support for confident children and loving strong families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do whatever the kid enjoys doing, but personally I love doing arts and crafts, I'm pretty good at video games as well, I would always play bored games with my residents, and read aloud is also one of me and my daughters favorites. But I'm always down for for silly random games, such as tag or baby dolls. when I care for my students I even let them braid my hair during free play. I do my best to keep the kids entertained, and exploring the world around them I wanna help them learn I don't do everything for them I Encourage problem solving in self-development for long-term self confidence!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing when it comes to caring for other especially children is making them laugh, helping them better them self's and grow into good people one day, children, they see and soak up everything. I want to see the parents come home and not have to stress, I want them to know that there little treasure is safe and laughed that day and spent it with a friend someone kind and caring someone gentle who sees them as the treasures they are.

My experience with special needs children...

My brother and other members of my family have special needs. I have been helping with medication and meltdowns for many years and am vary comfortable. Through high school I Taught and art class to the special needs class as an elective with other classmates and proved after school homework help every Friday after school even. I have worked professionally for 3+ years with adults with special needs as well. I have worked as preschool teacher for 3+ years and am currently a professional Nanny striving to become a real life Mary Poppins ✨️

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would have to say the small moments like hugs after they scrape there knees from running to fast and playing to hard. I love there imagination all the silly stories and games I find myself playing. I love when where coloring and they decided to give me the drawing. I love the light in there eyes when that new skill finely clicks for them I love seeing them find there confidence.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Portland, OR: Karly D.

Hello! My name is Karly and I am looking for a job as a nanny for the summer, could be longer if needed. I come from a big family and am an aunt to 11 nieces and nephews. My experience comes from my time helping nanny multiple of my nephews. Between 2019 and 2020 and Nani full-time for my nephew. I was also a nanny between 2017 and 2019, where I was a nanny for a toddler under two years old and a 10 year-old. In that role, I helped tidy the house, and take care of the children, and always made sure to take care for the children to my best ability. When I left that role in one of the comments, my prior boss said was “ the best thing about having you here as a nanny is that you truly cared about our kids.” I come from a career in law-enforcement that has recently come to a close due to being laid off. I’m looking to getting back into becoming a nanny because I coming off a hard job and would like a job that brings me joy.
