Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was recently a nanny for a family with two 6 year olds who I think are the coolest kids in the world. They are old enough to now spend much of the summer at camps, so I’m here looking for more work. I started with them in March of 2021 when the parents were needing help managing 1st grade remote learning. The kiddos and I had to find many creative solutions to keep focused on learning at home, but once we found our system that worked for us we were golden.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As previously mentioned, I grew up playing all kinds of sports (volleyball, basketball, softball-pitched for my college team, football, swimming, skateboarding, etc.) Essentially, I am definitely not afraid to go outside and dirty. I also really enjoy all kinds of arts and crafts (painting, coloring, DIY anything!) and I have an extensive art supply bucket. I also really enjoy baking and cooking with my younger brothers so I could include a bit of that if your munchkin would be interested.
The most important part about being a nanny...
attempting to connect with the kids instead of showing up and sitting on your phone or just putting the kids in front of the TV. I believe that taking the time to make real connections with the kids is vital in order to have a mutually respectful relationship.

The last two Halloweens I have been invited to participate in the family costume of my last nanny family. I helped them with some spook makeup and we all went trick or treating together. It was pretty when the parents posted on instagram and their friends thought they had hired a makeup artist. The kiddos loved being the spookiest kids on the street and they were dragging me around to all their friends introducing me as their “coolest babysitter ever”. My heart just about exploded from the cuteness.
