More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I've had experiences in tutoring maths, sciences, and languages. I've worked with disabled students and children from ages 6-14, and I often volunteered at the local elementary school in my hometown.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like hands-on activities because I think it's the best way to engage the child, and they learn it better by doing it themselves. An example I could think of would be baking; the child could help by mixing the batter, doing fun icing designs. I personally also play sports, I've played tennis for 5 years, and dancing for 4 years. It's important to enforce a healthy lifestyle for children and encourage them to stay fit, therefore I think outdoor playtime should definitely be integrated into the babysitting hours.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a brother who is 8 years younger than me, and he is clinically diagnosed with autism and dyslexia. Since both my parents work, the responsible of caring for him was laid on me at a very young age. Special needs children are definitely very different from other children, but that's why they need more attention, patience, and know they're loved equally.
It can be frustrating to understand them at times, and trust me, I know better because my brother is considered non-verbal. But my efforts have shown great progression on his speech, and I've seen what I can do for children with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I used to tutor this Spanish child English. Although I am British-Chinese, I went to school in Spain. During my time as a babysitter, the child's parents also requested me to communicate with the child in English in order to naturally make him learn a language.
I started in March, and when I was leaving Spain for the summer, the child wrote a card for me that's fully in English without the aid of any translators or his parents. It wasn't perfect, but it did not have to be. His hardwork and interest in a language that had nothing to do with his own made me very emotional. I still have the card he wrote to me on my desk in my dorm.

I have experience working as a cashier, which has helped me become dependable, organized, and great with communication. I’m also bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, which allows me to connect with a wide range of families and children.
I genuinely enjoy working with kids and creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for them. Whether it’s helping with homework, keeping them entertained, or making sure they stick to their routine, I always try to be patient, attentive, and positive.
I understand that my age might make me seem less experienced, but I take my responsibilities very seriously and pride myself on being reliable, punctual, and trustworthy. I’m looking for a part-time position where I can help a family and have a strong, trusting relationship. I have experience caring for children, helping with meals, playtime, and homework while keeping them safe.
