Down the line, my sister had a baby girl who we did not know was non-verbal. Around COVID I was sent home from school and my sister cared for both my niece and nephew. She did not have the capacity to handle both of them. So, stepped in to help her out. In and out of virtual class, I cared for my niece. Playing, talked, and cleaned for my sister. What this experience has taught me is that it’s not just the child; it's about the mother too. Moms are heroes, but they need time to cope.
