What matters to me the most is the child’s safety and happiness. I want to make sure they’re safe and nothing will harm them along with that making sure they’re laughing and having loads of fun.
My experience with special needs children...
I babysat one 6 year old boy with adhd before. I just had to be calm patient and persistent. Along with that Down syndrome, I don’t treat them any different from any other children but I do understand that they need more special care and observation then others.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my two favorite nanny moments would have to be watching little ones and hearing their first words and seeing the first steps. For the older ones I love seeing what they accomplish and the challenges they can succeed in when others may think they’re too young.
