I’m always down for a good craft day, a trip to the park or a local museum, a visit to the library- anything really! I will admit, I am a girly girl and will never say no to a “girls day’ !
The most important part about being a nanny...
Ensuring that not only are the child’s needs met, but that they are also engaged in activities and know that their care is top priority. Children are very good at realizing how a person views child care and they know if the passion is not there. I think that as a nanny it is important to make sure that the child and family knows that they are not just a job.
My experience with special needs children...
I have been a special education aide for that last year and a half. My experience is mainly focused on those with autism, but I have worked with children with cerebral palsy.
The most important part about being a nanny...
This is a babysitting moment, but one of the girls I babysit regularly and I have made it a tradition to make our own pizzas and cookies at night and then we have a Barbie fashion show!
Another moment is from a few summers ago; the child I was nannying for in the summer and I were going to have a beach day but got rained out. We instead grabbed the materials to make slime from Target and had a make our own slime day! It was so much fun (if not a little messy :))
