The most important part about being a nanny...
Kids are awesome, and being around them comes with tons of whimsy, silliness and love. It also comes with kids pushing boundaries, learning to self-regulate and lots of changes.
It's demanding and lots of patience is needed, but the fact that I get to be a part of a family life, be in a child's world and watch them grow daily, it's incredibly rewarding.
All the work I put in pays off and when kids thrive, its the best feeling.

While in the moment, I wasn't happy, I'd say when a child I cared for, during a moment of frustration, hit me in the face.
It was the first time having to address a serious behavioral issue with a child, and it challenged me to stay calm, set boundaries, and talk to them through their emotions.
It was meaningful for both of us as respect, emotions, and communication are such big parts of any relationship with someone. It made our relationship even better.
It’s a moment I look back on with pride because of the growth that came from it for both of us.
