A little bit about me

My name is J'Leisha and I absolutely love working with children of all ages. Personally, I believe the children are our future so it is our jobs to give them our best in teaching, loving, and engaging. Watching children grow and learn new things is my favorite part about the job. While in high school I volunteered in a preschool program where I prepped and managed some activities with the children. After graduating, I continued some Early Childhood Education at OC while also working at and gaining more experience at an Early Learning Center in Silverdale. After giving birth to my own daughter, it was like I got a whole new, updated pair of eyes for the children in the world. It really inspired me to be better and do better not only for her, but for all the other children I work with. I look forward to talking and meeting with you and your families (:

Some of my favorite indoor activities to do with children are making playdough, any type of sensory/ water/ shaving cream/ oobleck play, dress up/ pretend play, etc. My favorite outdoor activities are (depending on the weather here in WA) sprinklers, kiddie pools/ water and sand tables in the backyard, going on nature walks, going to neighborhood parks, blowing bubbles, riding bikes, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is to always be a great role model in every way. To remember that it's okay to have big feelings, it is how we deal and manage those feelings is what matters and it is our job to teach the children how to cope with big feelings in a positive way. The children are our future, we must provide them all of the tools they need to be amazing human beings!
