Hi families! Caring for kids has always been a big part of my life. Growing up around younger children and now studying Special Education at Ohio University, I love helping kids learn, explore, and build confidence. I have 8+ years of childcare experience with children from newborns to age 10, including nannying, babysitting, afterschool care, and special needs support. I have experience with newborn care, potty training, homework help, crafts, outdoor play, and fun educational outings like museums and nature trails. I am CPR, AED, and First Aid certified through the American Red Cross and trained in seizure response and EpiPen administration. I am patient, dependable, inclusive, and passionate about creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for children of all abilities. I am a student so the position would be for the summer.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 8 years of childcare experience caring for children from newborns to around age 10. I have worked as a summer nanny, babysitter, afterschool care provider, and childcare volunteer. As a nanny, I cared for three children ages 2 months, 3, and 8, managing newborn care, including bottle feeding, swaddling, and nap routines, while also planning activities and helping with homework. I also currently work in an after-school care program, supervising children, assisting with homework, and organizing activities in a safe and supportive environment. Throughout the years, I have worked with various families, including children from newborns to 13 years of age.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable, valued, and encouraged to grow. I believe building trust with both children and parents is essential. As someone studying Special Education, I care deeply about helping children of all abilities feel included and confident. I focus on patience, structure, and fun learning experiences so children feel supported while developing independence and curiosity.

I have worked with children with food allergies and can administer an EpiPen. I have experience with a child with seizures. As well as volunteer work with children on the autism spectrum

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite memories as a nanny was watching a family of girls I cared for grow up from about 4 months old to 6 years old. Being part of their lives through so many milestones, learning to crawl and walk, starting preschool, and becoming more independen, as well as listening to her pronunciation of mt name change from nanie to Janie was incredibly special. Seeing their personalities develop and knowing I played a small role in their growth is one of the reasons I love working with children.
