Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I think learning games are the best with young children and going outside or to the park as long as parents are okay with that. I personally love playing all kinds of board games and outside games I think playing nerf guns is really fun with kids as long as the parents approve. baking is one of my favorite things to do with children, they normally enjoy it so much more when they get to help and make it themselves. Coloring and sticker books are another favorite of mine.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me the most important thing about being a nanny is, well a few things... 1) safety 2) following the goals and expectations of the parents to my best ability 3) having fun.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a lot of experience with special needs children, especially children with autsim and drawfism. I myself have drawfism and so does my younger sister. I also have four family members who have autism including my step daughter. What I've learned in my own experience and through these children is that everyones situation is different and what works for one person doesn't mean it will work someone else. I have also learned through my niece and nephew who are considered mute how to communicate with them and to watch for signs of what they want or don't want.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was actually over a decade ago I ended up saving my younger sister from drowning, she was four and I was 18 and she fell backwards in the pool in our back yard I ran in that pool so fast clothes and shoes and all. then I decided it was definitely time to teach her how to swim. by the end of the month she was swimming under and over water. I took care of her for quite a few years in her young years and I will never forget how I felt to know she was okay because I was there.
