A little bit about me

Hello families ! My name is Jada & I have had the pleasure for being a private nanny for 7 years, educator for 4 and behavioral therapist since 2023. Working with families for the education and development of their children has been a passion of mine, driven by the desire to not only help children achieve their educational & behavioral goals but support families while doing so.

A bit about me personally; I’m from Charlotte, NC but I’ve traveled all over the USA. I have a wonderful dog, a loving fiancé and I love KPOT. I also adore the great outdoors! As an environmental educator, I got to live my dream as an educator while simultaneously hiking, teaching first aid , tracking orienteering using a compass , archery, rowing and so much more! In my off time you can find me hiking these beautiful NC mountains with my autobahn.
On the flip side, I also love painting, reading and gardening.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My previous nanny families, as well as my volunteer efforts in the charlotte area (assistant teaching, and tutoring).
On top of that, I’ve been an Outdoor Educator for Natures Classroom atop Lookout mountain for the last 4 years, and a behavioral technician for children W/ autism and other developmental disabilities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities: Puzzles, arts & crafts, reading, imaginative play, structured play to target learning goals / motor skills,

Outdoor: bike riding, outdoor play / playgrounds, sensory bins (water, sand, slime), chalk drawing, nature walks / learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building a solid relationship with each family I help, as well as providing the tools necessary for any child to truly be able to grow and express themselves. I want to be a TEACHER, I want to walk with these children, and show them how to stand for themselves while also protecting their best interests.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve had the privilege to care as a nanny for children with Asperger’s, & Down Syndrome. Each child was 3 & 4 years old, and of course each has individual needs aligning with them.
I became an RBT (Registered Behavioral Technician) in 2023 and have continued working with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was at the beach taking care of a two year old boy for the day, and we were sitting in shallow water playing with pebbles. He then walked over to me and sat in my lap and said ‘thank you’, I didn’t know why at first until later his mother said he does that when he really loves being with someone. Just thank you for being there. It was a really small but really sweet moment that’s stuck with me.
