Hi! I’d love to introduce myself and express my interest in your babysitter/parent helper position. I have hands-on childcare experience as an ABA therapist supporting autistic children, where I learned to be patient, attentive, adaptable, and responsive to each child’s individual needs. I’m also a former nursing student, giving me additional knowledge of safety, caregiving, and children’s well-being. I’m comfortable with bottle feeding, diaper changes, preparing light meals, helping with routines, reading, storytelling, arts and crafts, drawing, outdoor activities, and keeping children engaged. I’m also happy to help with laundry, light cleaning, and household tasks. I love animals and have previous veterinary-care education and pet-care experience, so I’m very comfortable around pets. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My caregiving experience includes working as an ABA therapist supporting autistic children, where I provided patient, attentive, and individualized care while following routines and supporting children’s development and well-being. I am also a former nursing student, which gave me education in health, safety, communication, and caring for others. In addition, I previously studied veterinary care and have experience caring for animals, including understanding their basic needs and providing responsible, attentive pet care. I have approximately two years of experience working in hospital food service, where I assembled and served patient meals while following strict safety and sanitation procedures. I was also a Student Body President, developing strong leadership, communication, organization, and responsibility skills. Across these experiences, I have learned to remain calm, dependable, patient, and attentive while caring for others and handling responsibilities independently.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creating fun, creative, and age-appropriate activities that keep children engaged while allowing them to learn and express themselves. I enjoy reading books and storytelling, drawing, painting, arts and crafts, music, dancing, and imaginative play. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as walks, exploring nature, gardening, playground trips, and simple fitness activities. For younger children, I’m comfortable with sensory play, building blocks, puzzles, songs, and interactive games that encourage curiosity and development. I can also help school-aged children with homework and educational activities while making learning enjoyable. I believe activities should be adapted to each child’s personality, interests, age, and comfort level. My experience supporting autistic children has also taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and creating activities that are accessible and enjoyable for each individual child.

My experience with special needs children...

I have hands-on experience supporting autistic children through my previous work as an ABA therapist. In this role, I worked closely with children with different communication, behavioral, sensory, and developmental needs. I learned to follow individualized routines and care plans, provide patient and encouraging support, recognize and respond appropriately to children’s needs, and create a safe and structured environment. I understand that every child is different and that activities, communication, and routines may need to be adapted to help them feel comfortable and successful. I am patient, compassionate, attentive, and comfortable providing one-on-one support while encouraging children’s independence and confidence. My former nursing studies also gave me additional education related to health, safety, communication, and caregiving. I genuinely enjoy working with children and believe every child deserves to feel respected, understood, supported, and included.
