I think the most important part of being a nanny is not only going through the motion of taking care of kids but also developing a relationship with the kids and their parents. I think it is so important to know the kids you are nannying to be able to take care of them to the best of your ability.

My favorite nanny moment is actually the most chaotic one. I was 15 and babysitting for the first time for 3 kids. We were playing in the backyard and the oldest boy stepped in dog poop. It was so stressful trying to get the kids inside, get his foot cleaned off, and make sure none of the other kids got into anything. I think that it really set the precedence for how I handle situations that I am not prepared for.
