Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoor activities include reading, listening to music and dancing, playing with Legos and other toys, and lots of reading. I also like to occasionally plan a relaxing movie night. Outdoor activities include going to the beach or pool, to the park to play basketball, soccer, baseball, and I have taught many kids how to skateboard!
My experience with special needs children...
I haven't cared for special needs kids on my own, but was in a club called Saxon Buddies throughout highschool. This clubs focus was to give special needs kids friends to eat lunch with and to play with during the day. We also planned events for them to take part in and I was an active member of this club for 3 years.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I taught the 7 year old that I nannied how to swim in the ocean. He bragged about it for almost a year and begged me to take him to the beach with him almost every day. I love knowing that I was a part of one of his proudest moments.
