Arts and crafts are always a big hit with kids. I think it’s also very important for kids to get in touch with the world around them so I love seeing them explore while on walks or just playing in a park.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me the most important part about being someone who takes care of children is creating a safe environment for them. Not only just physically making sure their safe but giving them a feeling of emotional security. Kids have big emotions and sometimes don’t have all the words to express them so if I can offer them help in that area it makes my day.

I don’t have any official babysitting experience with special needs children. However I have volunteered for my schools Unified Sports Club which gives kids with special needs opportunities to get involved with sports and community.

I love whenever I finish watching a kid and I’m getting ready to leave but they don’t want me to. It makes me feel like I did a really good job of being engaging while still completing my responsibilities as a caregiver.
