Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoor activities with babies:
Rocking, singing, tummy time, finding fingers and feet, using interactive mats with lots of different sounds and feels and then working on pushing with legs, neck strength, and that rolling over.
Work on that balance sitting, pulling up, to standing, and eventually running. Tracking of things so playing with balls, stacking cups, tactile toys and really just letting them explore and learn. Reading and exploring books is so much fun, letting them explore the pages and characters, making up voices with them.
Outdoors with this age is the same, exploring. This is where I tend to get a little messier. It’s Arizona so outside of a few months it’s really hot for children so I like to make splash pads or mini sprinkler toys so they can explore in a safe controlled environment but stay cool.
I like to teach little ones some baby sign language it has a tendency to help calm some communication frustrations that can come with the twos, threes, fours.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Being able to support my parents! Remind them that they are doing a great job, that they are the perfect parents for this child; that no one knows their child better, and no one anywhere could hold them better, comfort them better, feed them better, sing to them better, bathe them better, educate them better. I know how hard this job is but you were chosen for this job, for this child for a reason. Trust the process, you are doing a great job!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have a tendency to blow raspberries on my nanny children’s backs/bellys/legs whatever; and this particular morning Z was free playing while I was writing my notes for his mother. He was of the peekaboo age and so he snuck up behind me (I was in a chair) he pulled up my shirt and raspberried my back then ran away squealing, laughing, and hiding. I turned and had the appropriate reaction so he kept doing it 3, 4, 5 more times. I was able to text his mom, take a picture, and a video and send them to his mom as a memory for her.
