I am a 29 year old qualified Early Childhood teacher and have recently relocated to New York City from New Zealand. I have a green card so I am eligible to work in the United States.
I have work in Early childhood centers for 7 years in Auckland New Zealand, mainly following a Reggio Emilia philosophy. I have experience teaching children from birth to 5 years old, with the majority of my experience being with under twos. I have also worked for an Au Pair agency in New Zealand as a family and program manager. In this role I was the main contact person for Au Pairs and their host families to support them with everything in their placement from conflicts to the educational side of things.
I am a very caring, passionate, patient, enthusiastic and friendly person who aims to make a worthwhile and valuable contribution, not only to children's learning but also my place of employment. I have a good understanding of children's developmental stages and educational needs due to my education and experience working with children. In the early years I feel it is important for children to develop strong, meaningful relationships with the people around them as they are building confidence in their own abilities. I am a firm believer in giving children the time and space to let them actively explore the world around them in their own time and at their own pace.
