The most important part about being a nanny...
is keeping the kids safe, which is always my priority. I also find it so important to set a good example for the kids and treat them with the same respect and kindness anyone deserves.
My experience with special needs children...
While it has been about 2 years since working with a child with special needs, I was able to spend a decent amount of time watching a 10 year old boy with down syndrome, as well as his two twin sisters. Austin was a very active boy who liked playing sports and activities that always got me off my feet. I always took the time to listen to his needs and make sure he was okay and he was honestly quite easy to watch over! I truly enjoyed. Aside from this, I have two baby cousins with down syndrome and have learned a lot more through their parents. I know it takes a lot of care to watch a child with special needs, but I also know that children with special needs are often some of the happiest kids around and very easy to please and get along with.
