Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have spent the last two years working as a nanny for two families. One of the families had a young boy the age of three; we would spend time playing, reading, going outside, and doing creative activities like playing instruments and coloring. I was also responsible for meals, diaper changes, and nap time routines. The second family had two daughters ages nine and eleven. I drove the girls to and from extracurricular activities and helped them with their homework and other miscellaneous activities like preparing lunch and braiding their hair for school the next day. I was responsible for meals and making sure they completed their chores and homework each day. I also helped around the house with cleaning and organizing as well as with occasional grocery store runs and general errands.

I love doing creative activities with kids and spending time outdoors. Board games, cooking/baking, playing instruments and pretty much anything they set their minds to I'm happy to spend time doing!

Making sure the kids are feeling safe, heard, respected, and cared for at all times as well as being in active communication with parents.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked as a teacher's assistant for a summer program for students with learning disabilities. The students ranged from 3rd grade to 6th grade.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my fondest memories was sitting on the floor with the seven year old girl I was nannying as we were drawing with an array of markers and crayons. On her paper, she drew a picture of us holding hands and told me with a smile that I was her best friend. This moment absolutely melted my heart. Being able to make these connections and really get to know a kid is an incredibly fulfilling and heartwarming experience. It feels like a gift to be able to watch them discover life and themselves through each day.
