More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My relevant childcare experience includes working as an elementary teacher, kindergarten teacher, after-school tutor, teacher assistant, recreation and sports leader, and track and field coach. In these roles, I have supervised children from kindergarten through middle school, supported their academic and social-emotional development, planned age-appropriate activities, and maintained safe, structured environments. As an after-school tutor, I helped students with homework, reading, and individualized learning goals. My recreation and coaching experience taught me how to keep children active, engaged, and safe while encouraging teamwork and positive behavior. I have also provided unpaid babysitting for family members and people I know.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy planning a mix of fun, educational, and active activities for children. Indoors, I like reading books, completing puzzles, doing arts and crafts, playing board games, helping with homework, watching age-appropriate movies, and creating simple learning games. I also enjoy encouraging imaginative play and activities that build communication and problem-solving skills.
Outdoors, I enjoy going for walks, visiting parks, playing tag, practicing sports, creating obstacle courses, and leading simple fitness or movement activities. Because of my background in Physical Education, recreation, and track coaching, I am comfortable keeping children active while making safety a priority. I adjust activities based on each child’s age, interests, abilities, and the family’s preferences.

The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most to me about being a nanny is protecting each child’s well-being and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I want children to feel secure enough to be themselves while knowing they are being supervised by someone responsible and attentive. I also believe it is important to follow the family’s routines, rules, and preferences so the child has consistency. I strive to create a positive environment where children feel supported emotionally, encouraged to learn, and able to have fun. Building trust with both the children and their parents is very important to me, and I would always communicate openly, remain dependable, and treat every child with patience, kindness, and respect.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience supporting children with special needs has primarily been in classroom settings. During my first year of teaching, I worked closely with several students who had IEPs and 504 Plans. I followed their required accommodations, adjusted assignments and instruction, provided additional time and individualized support, and used small-group teaching when needed. I also collaborated with special education teachers, support staff, administrators, and families to help students meet their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals. This experience taught me to be patient, observant, flexible, and attentive to each child’s individual needs. While I do not have specialized medical training, I am comfortable following a family’s instructions, maintaining established routines, and providing a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment.
