The most important part about being a nanny for me is developing a strong relationship with the children and the parents. I like to think of being a nanny as a third/second parent or big sister, so making sure I take the time to really get to know each individual in the family is important to me.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when the family and I went on a trip to Orlando because one of the children required surgery. Throughout the duration of the trip, I was required to stay at the hotel with the other child while the parents were attending to the sick child. At the end of the trip, we all gathered in the hospital room with the sick child as he was fresh out of surgery, and as we all walked in to see him, his face lit up. Upon seeing his brother and me, he couldn't help but jump up in excitement. At that moment, I felt so proud of him, because although right out of surgery, all he was focused on was seeing and playing with his brother and me. It showed me how strong and resilient children can be despite their circumstances.
