More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
An early childhood education center, at Vanderbilt children’s hospital, personal home nanny.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Love going swimming, to the zoo, parks, museums, libraries, or indoor playgrounds.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Building a strong bond not only with the children, but also the parents. Inviting someone into your home to care for and watch the most important piece of your heart is scary, and when you build that bond, it’s something truly special. I want every family I work with to feel comfortable, heard, and confident that their children are being cared for with the same patience, love, and attention I would want for my own.
My experience with special needs children...
I was a nanny for a family with an autistic and nonverbal 18yr old daughter. I loved every minute of it and learning all her different cues and quirks!
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I was caring for a girl that was autistic and nonverbal although she did come to love me very quick and loved being around me, there was one day that stuck out for me. We spent a day out, we went to the park and walked around, went to Chick-fil-A (her favorite), and then target and we picked out a new stuffy for her (stuffy’s were a majorly sensory win for her) and after we got back home and I got her settled before I was leaving she gave me a hug and a kiss on my cheek, which was not something she did very often and it was the sweetest and most precious moment ever. I felt so lucky to be someone she felt comfortable enough with to do that.

Babysitter Available in Nashville, TN: Gabrielle D.
I believe every child deserves excellent care.
My first job was as a swim instructor and lifeguard instructor. And yes, my CPR and teaching skills are still up to par.
I have worked with children who live on the autism spectrum, as well as trauma survivors.
I believe strongly in trauma-informed care. This means that I prioritize co-regulation, respect for where the child needs to be met, and holding children to a high standard where they are seen as capable beings while being adequately supported as they learn how to be people. My style is rooted in Montessori and Reggio principles, and is most importantly responsive to the needs of the child. I have experience with newborns up to teenagers, and there's something to love about them all.
