The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children feel comfortable and cared for. It’s about building trust with both the kids and the parents, being reliable and responsible, and bringing patience, creativity, and positive energy each day. A nanny isn’t just there to supervise but they play an important role in helping children grow, learn, and feel secure while also supporting the family’s needs.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a lot of experience caring for children with special needs. I’ve helped take care of my younger brother since he was 4 years old (he’s now 17) and would often take him to his therapy sessions and CHOC appointments. I’ve also supported my mom with babysitting my nephews and nieces who have autism, and I’ve learned patience, creativity, and different ways to engage with them. In addition, I have a cousin with Down syndrome, and even though he doesn’t speak, I always found ways to connect and communicate with him. These experiences have taught me compassion, understanding, and how to create a safe and supportive environment for kids of all abilities.

My name is Raffaela, and taking care of children is something I feel passionate about. I have experience from when I was in college. For the last four years I have been a resource parent (ie, foster parent). Since I am not fostering at the moment, I have time and lots of experience in childcare. My other passion is education, and I teach college courses online. My flexible schedule allows me to manage the two roles I care about the most.

Live-In Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Santa Ana, CA: Catherine B.
I have been caring for children since I was 13, starting with babysitting and later working as a seasonal nanny taking care of kids ages 3mo to 10 years old. Most recently, I’ve been a nanny for my young nephew (1yr), which has deepened my love for helping kids learn and grow. I’m currently back in school to study nursing, where I’m gaining even more knowledge about care and development. I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active with the children I care for, whether that means playing games, exploring nature, or trying new activities. I’m always eager to learn new skills and approaches so I can be the best caregiver possible.
