A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Jayda Davis, I am 21 years old and currently saving for esthetician school. I was formerly an education major and still carry a strong love for quality education. I'm very passionate about people and think forming genuine relationships is important. I graduated from International Leadership of Texas. I have basic language skills in both Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, while also having a basic understanding in ASL. I have babysat on and off since I was 11 years old, and I often work with all ranges of children. I helped my sister raise her two boys, nannied for my God Mother with her four children (all under the age of 6 at the time), nannied 2 young girls while running errands for mom, and nannied my best friends twins who were born 3 1/2 months premature! I love kids and love to be a part of something bigger than myself!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have babysat on and off for the past 9 years. I helped my sister raise her two boys, and I took care of my best friend's niece for the first year of her life.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to go on walks, go swimming, playing outside. I love to do fun educational activities, such as coloring sheets with a lesson, learning games, movies, and dancing. I really love to take an interest in the kids interests! One of my favorite things is helping a kid articulate and form their personality!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think forming a relationship with the children and the family is the most important aspect of being a nanny. Being able to make the child and the parents feel safe and comfortable is very important to me. Without a proper relationship and understanding, the rest will fall through.

My experience with special needs children...

I use to volunteer in a special education classroom, and am Nuerodivergent myself (high-level functioning autism). That being said I only put this because I believe in full transparency and I find it helps to know I fully understand a child who has special needs :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was with these two girls I nannied a few years back. I was preparing their breakfast and I just heard the loudest belly laughs come from the oldest. She had gotten her and her sister in her laundry basket (short, not tall) and then put the play tent over it! It was just very silly to see!
