Hello! My name is Jayla B! I enjoy outside activities like walking or going to the park with family, drawing, painting, trying new foods, etc. Most view me as respectful, kind, understanding and energetic/upbeat. I've overall had many years of previous experience working with children as a student teacher while I was a High School student (mostly kinder & 1st grade level) with less than a year of paid babysitting working with toddlers and young children. I'm currently a full-time college student as an education major with an end goal to be a 1st grade teacher. I love working with kids of all ages ranging from newborn-12 years old. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

A few years ago, while in high school, I was a student teacher for 2 years at Austin Elementary where I went off campus to work alongside mostly kinder and 1st graders. I was able to teach lessons and develop close teacher-student relationships while being there. Teaching is my passion, and working alongside children in general has always been a passion of mine.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy indoor activities like reading books, board games, watching children appropriate movies, drawing, painting, and baking! With outdoor activities, I enjoy drawing with chalk, blowing bubbles, going on walks, going to the park, playing soccer, basketball or throwing a football! I am very open to any indoor/outdoor activities needed.

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have months' worth of experience working with special needs children, but I have had instances where I sometimes visited the special needs classroom in both middle and high school where I read to them, read them flashcards, drew with them, or helped them with anything they needed assistance with.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Working with a family member's children for new years in which I was paid to babysit them for the night. I loved eating pizza with them while also playing "teacher". My younger cousins were the teachers, and I was the student, and they instructed me to do many different tasks like spelling and grading in which one of the younger kids gave me a grade based off my work ha-ha! It overall was a memorable night, and I can't wait to go babysit again!
