Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
While in high school, I took AP Child Psychology Preschool as well as the School Age course. This allowed me to work in a preschool setting with anywhere from 6-16 kiddos, while teaching them fine and large motor skills, read to them, and do small activities to enhance their skills. While working with school age kids, I was able to be in classrooms and be a teachers aid while assisting with reading, spelling, math, as well as teaching the fundamentals of socializing with other students.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Having a strong relationship with your nanny is so important because, we are responsible for your little ones while you are away. I believe having strong communication and trust between all parties will ensure a successful transition!
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have much experience with working with special needs children besides volunteering twice every other week during my high school time, and doing activities and socializing with special needs high school students.
