A little bit about me

Hello. My name is Jeanne. I am 45 years old. Married 27 years in August. I have 3 girls, 27, 17 and 14. 3 grands-8, 6 and 3. My husband is an RN HRMC in Melbourne. In my younger years, I was enrolled in college, but never did finish. Was always content with being a stay at home mom. I had my realty license, but never did anything with it. I have always been in love with being a mother and grandma. My kids are older now and don’t need me as much. I figured why not continue loving on babies and helping out families in need. I
do have my CPR card but will need updated I believe this summer. I’m looking for something early morning hours til early afternoon. I am located in West Melbourne, but I’m willing to travel out a half hour in whatever direction. I am very nurturing and patient. I would say I have the most energy and focus for new babies in to early toddler stages. I am open to full time if the job seems to be the right fit. Preferably looking after 1-2 children.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As a teen, I took care of my younger 1/2 siblings. I had several baby sitting jobs throughout my school age years. I worked at a daycare for a couple of years when my oldest was little. (She attended too!) over the years, I’ve taken care of my nieces and nephews when needed or friends’ children. I’ve been involved in my girls’ schools over the years, chaperoning, teacher’s assistant, PTC, cafeteria assistance, Girl Scouts, bible camp.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading to kids. Helping them learn their letters, numbers, shapes and colors. Fine motor skills. Eye-hand coordination. Playing, singing, just talking with them, helps promote healthy speech. Feeding and teaching how to feed themselves. Can potty train as well. Teaching good hygiene, handwashing, blowing nose. Cleaning up.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To be a nanny is to be a constant giving and nurturing presence in a baby or child’s life. To help them in each stage of development, to learn and grow to become a well rounded individual. To know that they are comfortable with you and trust you is to know you are doing your job correctly. They are like little sponges that constantly need watered. To be a nanny is to love the child you are taking care of, as you would love your own.

My experience with special needs children...

Special needs children require a lot of one on one time so I would need to be caring for only them. My mother in law was a special needs teacher for 35 years and many times in my youth, I would go in and assist in her classroom. Special needs children are such unique and wonderful babies and need a particular, loving kind of care.
