A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Jenna and I have taught and/or cared for children for more than 5 years ranging from just 9 months to 9 years old. I have most recently specialized in working with special needs in a therapeutic setting full time with 2-3 year olds. I have 2+ years working with special needs children! I have studied early childhood education and was a full time preschool (ages 2-5) teacher in a play-based, child centered school/day, as well. I also worked in after school programs with school age children and have experience nannying. My approach for teaching and caring for children is child centered and based off of their lead while incorporating teaching opportunities. I absolutely love singing, movement, games and hands on activities to support children’s thinking and development. I am creative, organized and communicative. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked as a play based preschool teacher for children in the toddler classroom (2-3) and sometimes helped with the preschool age (4-5) through gross & fine motor activities, sensory bin play, circle time with music and stories! I helped with toileting/diapering and putting kids to nap, as well.

I have been an RBT for over 2 years specializing in early intervention for children with autism but have experience with children from ages 2-14 with autism and/or ADHD! I absolutely adore each and every family I’ve worked with as a therapist. My approach is compassionate & interactive child-led and child centered learning through mostly floor time (basically running around with the kids and getting into reciprocal play). I have supported children with AAC, feeding, co-treatments for OT, PT and ST.

I love working with kids and I truly feel it’s my calling in life!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love water play and sensory bin activities, sports, movement games, yoga, reading stories, music and more! I am very active when working with children and love play based learning.

I have cared for children with autism from ages 0-3 who have needed support with AAC, feeding, naps, diapering and co-treatments (as an RBT) and carried out therapeutic intervention plans as planned from their BCBA.
