I am a 52 yr old, married woman looking to bless a family with part time care from a person who loves kids, but was unable to be blessed with them. I babysat from the time I was 12 years old, but most recently babysat my nieces and nephew for many years, then watched a set of 3 year old boys for a year and a half, and finally a 3 year old boy and his 6 yr old sister for many years until we moved out of state. I would love to babysit for a night out or a few afternoons a week. I am all about teaching kids how to be responsible and an important part of community, while having fun along the way. I love being a Gigi as it has brought the greatest joy to my life .

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do arts and crafts with kids, spend as much time as possible outside teaching them gardening skills, taking walks, swimming, playing games, etc. I like to try to combine teaching age appropriate life skills with fun activities. For example, while walking around the neighborhood, I will have my charges repeat the street names and house numbers, so they know where they live, but also it reinforces speech patterns, word knowledge, and learning numbers. I love reading to/with kids as well as doing puzzles or coloring. Additionally, whatever we are doing, I incorporate teaching respect, good grammar, manners, necessary people skills and good citizenship through whatever we are doing. Kids are like little sponges, so by incorporating outdoor time with exercise, games, and learning at a young age, it helps them incorporate those valuable things as they grow.
