More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a live in nanny for 6 years and full time live out for 2 years taking care of children from newborn to 11 years old

I am the oldest of 13 grandchildren and started babysitting at 10 years old. Started babysitting for other families after school at age 12.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and crafts, dancing, making music, playing at parks and getting them to classes

The most important part about being a nanny...

Aside from caring and nurturing charges as if they were family, is respecting and following your employer’s instruction and wishes at all times. Being allowed to help families raise their children is a privilege and should be taken seriously at all times. Honesty, transparency and communication with your employers is a must. A schedule and set daily expectations must be met and discussed prior to starting a position. Being a nanny is much more than a job it is providing families that extra set of hands and a loving heart to make their daily routine, however changing, run smoothly and less stressful.

My experience with special needs children...

I helped get a 5 year old autistic boy ready for kindergarten, conquer his fear of the bathroom over 4 months and then work closely with his therapists and school aide for 2 years, while also caring for his 6 month old sister

The most important part about being a nanny...

Anytime I am able to teach a child something new and make them laugh, smile and be proud of themselves.
