More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I started getting paid for working with kids when I was 14 as a summer camp counselor. Every summer since I worked as a camp counselor. On the side I also babysat for multiple families. The spring of 2022 back at school, I had found a job near me as an assistant after school director. That carried over into the summer where I worked as an assistant director as well. During this job I had also found multiple babysitting gigs and created deep connections with the community.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Working as an assistant after school director has definitely taught me a lot about how to make sure that every part of a kids day should be filled with care and enthusiasm for what they are doing. I love playing outdoor games and crafts. I love being active, but I am also able to create an atmosphere where the kids who aren't so active also have a space to have fun. One of my favorite things to to create themes out of different things, and for example a day where we would play pirates run around outside and do chores for the captain, and ride on bikes to sail the seas. I love making things exciting and different while still being able to keep a routine.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with students with autism and ADHD. I have always been given a set of plans from parents and from teachers, and it has always been in a group setting where I would be working with these kids. I am good at being able to address any issue that arise and able to communicate these with families, as well as work to maintain stress levels and make sure that the kids are always feeling safe and heard. I have also worked with someone who was deaf and I learned how to use her cochlear implants as well as her water proof ones.
This isn't for children with disabilities but I have also taking training's for usage of epipens and medicine administration in the beginning of the summer.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I have never been a nanny before, but I have worked with babysitting the same kids for quite some time. Some of my favorite things about working with kids outside of the camp and school setting is being able to really build connections with them. I love being able to talk and connect with the parents about their kids and about other things in life. The feeling of being able to help maintain a place of love and care is really special.
