A little bit about me

I am 24 years old with several years of childcare ranging from babysitting for family and friends, to nannying, to camp counselor. I also had child development classes and hands on experience in my high school’s preschool. I enjoy music, crafts, learning and seeing little ones smile and enjoy themselves. I have experience with kids 8mo-middle school with majority experience with toddler aged kids. I am not currently certified in cpr or first aid, but I was before and willing to get certified again. I do meal prep, driving to and from activities, cleaning, laundry, etc. The ideal family for me would be those who would treat me as family; those who would be long term so we could grow together. I like parents to have open communication with me and for parents to be open to communication from me.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience with toddlers at a park district summer camp. I also have several years experience babysitting for friends, family and teachers. I’m high school I took a semester long child development class that was paired with hands on teaching of preschoolers at the high school’s preschool.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being involved with the whole family. Working together with parents and kids is the most essential thing for a child’s development. If that foundation isn’t there there tends to be issues. Really making sure I create a bond with the child and the adults as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I had a particularly difficult 5 year old that would get jealous when his 2 year old cousin was around. I taught him that he was the big cousin that needed to look out for his little cousin and ever since we had that talk he took the job very seriously. We were walking home from school one day and I was able to snap a picture of them holding hands walking together, I still have the photo and it warms my heart to this day to see him being protective of her.
